- Burial
- To bury human remains underground.
- Cemetery
- The burial grounds for human remains.
- Columbarium
- The arrangement of niches in a building, or a room, for the display of urns containing cremated remains.
- Cremated Remains
- The human remains after cremation
- Cremation Vault
- The container for an urn.
- Crypt
- A space capable of holding a casket.
- Lawn Crypt
- The preconstructed, preburied vault in the ground capable of holding a casket.
- Companion Lawn Crypt
- The preconstructed, preburied vault in the ground capable of holding two or more caskets.
- Mausoleum Crypt
- A space in a mausoleum (building) capable of holding a casket.
- Companion Mausoleum Crypt
- A space in a mausoleum capable of holding two caskets.
- Endowment Care
- A trust fund established to provide for the permanent upkeep and care of the cemetery buildings and grounds.
- Entombment
- The placement of human remains in a crypt.
- Grave
- A space of land designated for the burial of human remains (also considered a lawn space).
- Interment
- The disposition of human remains by burial or entombment.
- Inurnment
- Placing cremated remains in an urn and the urn in a niche.
- Liner
- A container without a bottom used to cover the casket for ground burial.
- Mausoleum
- A permanent building above ground or partially above ground for interment of human remains.
- Memorial
- A headstone, monument, marker, name-plate or inscription identifying the human remains or cremated remains (also called memorialization).
- Companion Memorial
- A memorial for two or more individuals.
- Niche
- A space capable of holding cremated remains.
- Lawn Niche
- A space in an urn garden designated for the burial of cremated remains below ground.
- Companion Lawn Niche
- A space in an urn garden designated for the burial of two cremated remains below ground.
- Mausoleum Niche
- A space in a mausoleum capable of holding cremated remains above ground.
- Opening and Closing
- The preparation of the grave, space, crypt or niche to receive the human remains or cremated remains and the sealing of the grave, space, crypt, or niche after interment.
- Plot
- Two or more adjoining graves, crypts, or niches.
- Scattering
- The scattering of cremated remains in a designated area at one of our cemeteries.
- Urn
- A receptacle into which cremated remains are placed.
- Vase
- A receptacle for the placement of flowers on a grave, crypt, or niche.
- Vault
- An enclosed container used for the burial of a casket.
