Marguerite was born on August 17th, 1928, at Family Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She was the third daughter of Marie-Anne LeMoal and Alphonse Duret. She grew up on a farm near Ormeaux, Saskatchewan, where she eventually met the love of her life, Jean-Louis Bilodeau. In 1957, they were married and took over the family farm where she had grown up. Together they lovingly raised eight children.
In 1975, the decision was made to move to Saskatoon. This was a big change, but she quickly adapted to the city life. The family continued to expand with son and daughter in-law’s, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Mom loved to spend time in nature, gardening and picking berries. She loved playing piano, cards, baking, and making many crafts which she loved to spoil everyone with. Her positivity and unconditional love brought immense joy to her family.
Mom’s presence has left a lasting impact on the lives of those she held dear. This impact extends beyond her immediate circle. She had many friends and relatives. All those who spent time with her quickly fell in love with her joy and quick wit.
Mom had her share of trials and tribulations in life, including the challenge of living with a stroke for the past 9 years. Her strength, resilience, faith, and positive outlook were admired by all who knew her. She was loved deeply and by many. Her legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire us all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday May 4, 2024 at Saints Martyrs Canadiens (1007 Windsor Street, Saskatoon).
Arrangements entrusted to Aimé Laventure.
